Find Lyman Court Records

Start any Lyman court docket search at the county level. Lyman itself has no town court page. Traffic and other limited matters generally go to the Wayne County Justice Court, while district civil cases and major criminal cases belong to the Sixth District Court in Loa. Before you dig in, figure out the case type, then use the right county court and its calendar code, and call that court's clerk if details look unclear. The Lyman court docket is really a Wayne County affair. Town notices sit on a separate municipal record trail with their own contact and location questions.

Lyman Court Docket Searches

In a docket search, Lyman works as a place name. It is not a dedicated Xchange city field. Jurisdiction comes first. The Wayne County Justice Court takes traffic matters, infractions, most Class B and C misdemeanors, eligible ordinances, and small claims. The Sixth District Court in Loa covers district civil, domestic, probate, felony, and Class A misdemeanor cases.

  1. Read the citation, pleading, or notice to identify the court and case category.
  2. Open Utah Courts Xchange and select District Court, Justice Court, or both.
  3. Search by case number, citation number, or public name, then narrow to Wayne County or the exact court.
  4. Check Utah Court Calendars under 2807J for Justice Court or 2807D for Loa District Court.
  5. Call the correct clerk when no result appears or the notice and calendar do not agree.

Case and citation numbers are not unique statewide. That trip-up costs people time. Keep the court location attached to the identifier whenever you request a docket or court records, and treat any Lyman case-number format or municipal court choice as unconfirmed until the Wayne County clerk confirms it.

Lyman Has No Listed Court Portal

The Utah Courts calendar list includes no Lyman municipal-court location. Lyman's official public-body page gives town contact information. It offers no court docket, citation search, calendar, payment form, judge, or court hours. That absence is not a ruling. A town court could still exist under Utah law, but none is listed here.

Call the Wayne County Justice Court at 435-836-1321 with a current ordinance or citation question. Confirm territorial jurisdiction first. A Lyman case in District Court jurisdiction belongs at the Loa location. Hunting for a city dropdown that does not exist wastes time. It can also hide the real county record.

Inside the Lyman Municipal Court

No operating Lyman Municipal Court appears in the official material. The local path runs to the county's Justice Court and District Court locations. On the Justice side, clerk Jakelle Pace handles the work. On the Loa District side, deputy clerk Kassidee Brown is the contact. The Lyman town office handles municipal administrative records.

A town meeting, road item, water issue, budget notice, or zoning agenda is not automatically a judicial matter. It matters to a court search only when a real court case number or filed action links the events. Keep the public-body source and the Xchange case history separate.

Two Lyman Town Addresses

Two Lyman location references appear in official sources. The Utah Public Notice body page lists 101 South Center, Lyman, UT 84749. Its phone is 435-425-1107. Wayne County's elections page lists Lyman Town Hall at 115 South Main. One may serve town administration and the other may serve as an election facility. Treat them as distinct until confirmed. The Lyman Town Council public-body page displays the town contact and notice route.

Lyman town records and municipal contact source

For Lyman notices, agendas, and municipal contact, the public-body page is the right source. Ask which address holds the record you want before traveling or requesting pickup. Neither location replaces the Loa courthouse.

Finding Lyman Court Dates

A Lyman court date shows up under whichever court has jurisdiction. Use calendar code 2807J for Wayne County Justice Court or 2807D for Loa District Court. The public calendar also supports searches by case number, party, judge, attorney, bar number, date, and location.

DateThe hearing day now listed, not the filing or citation date.
TimeThe local time, sometimes the start of a grouped docket.
CourtroomThe Loa court location or room in the current notice.
JudgeThe judicial officer assigned to the setting.
Setting typeThe purpose, such as arraignment, pretrial, trial, or review.
ModeIn person, hybrid, or remote when shown.

The schedule updates on weekdays at about 5:30 a.m. A clerk notice or order can still move an event after that. Before a rural drive, call the court if the listing lacks a remote link or conflicts with a case notice.

Lyman Town Meeting or Hearing?

The word "hearing" covers two very different events. A Lyman public hearing before the Town Council is a municipal proceeding announced through Utah Public Notice. A Justice or District Court hearing is a judicial setting listed through Utah Court Calendars and recorded in case history. The offices, rules, and records are distinct.

EventWhere to lookWhat the record means
Town public hearingLyman body pageMunicipal notice, agenda, minutes
Justice hearingCalendar 2807JLimited-jurisdiction court setting
District hearingCalendar 2807DDistrict case setting
Past court eventXchange or clerk requestProceeding, minute, order, or audio

Never copy names of meeting participants into a court example. For local context, note the public body, date, and agenda category without treating civic participation as a judicial record.

Lyman Traffic Ticket Lookups

Check a Lyman traffic or infraction matter through the Wayne County Justice Court. Do that unless the citation names another court. Search Xchange with the citation number plus the Justice Court location. Then check calendar 2807J for a set date. Even a blank calendar does not erase the printed response deadline.

Utah ePayments needs the case or citation number, name verification, and court information. A failed online payment does not close the case or extend a deadline. Contact the Justice clerk at 435-836-1321. Local citation instructions also list PO Box 327, Loa, UT 84747 as the mail route. Confirm current clerk instructions before sending payment or a written response. The Wayne County traffic court records resource covers deferred traffic, payment, contest, and missed-date routes at county depth.

Lyman Email Versus Court Requests

Lyman's town email, lymantown@scinternet.net, appears on the public-body listing as a municipal contact. Treat it as a channel for town records only. Confirm the agenda, minute, notice, or administrative file you want before writing. That address was never published for Xchange history, judicial orders, court audio, or certified copies. It was not meant for a court record.

Court records travel a different path. Send those requests to the clerk who actually holds the case, using the state form. It asks for a reasonably specific description, the court, a case identifier when known, and your contact information. District questions go to 435-836-1301. Justice questions go to 435-836-1321. The split matters most when one local dispute produces both a town record and a later court filing.

Route by record, not by place name: Lyman town files stay with the town; judicial files go to the Wayne County court clerk.

How Lyman Cases Reach the County

Lyman sits high, but height changes nothing legally. Wayne County places the town near Thousand Lake Mountain at about 7,300 feet, far from Loa. Which court takes a Lyman case still depends on the case type and Utah law, not elevation or distance.

Docket flow: Lyman matter › Wayne County Justice Court when within limited jurisdiction › Utah District Court, Sixth District, for district jurisdiction or a Justice appeal.

Appeal a Justice Court decision and it moves to District Court. There it gets a new hearing or trial under the applicable rules. From there, most district and juvenile appeals land at the Utah Court of Appeals. Assigned categories instead go to the Utah Supreme Court. Every one of those records stays in the court system. It never lands on Lyman's municipal notice page.

Lyman Paper-Era Case Checks

Older Lyman matters may predate solid online coverage. The official Xchange table pegs the Loa District Court CORIS conversion at February 24, 2000. Anything filed earlier can show sparse detail online, or none at all. An empty search result does not prove the case never existed.

Instead, ask the District clerk to check an older index. Ask also about a paper file, or another archived format. Give a date range, the court, and the case type. Include the case number if you have it. Richfield converted on a different date. It sits at a separate location, even within the shared Sixth Judicial District. Keep the Wayne County court tied to your docket search.

Lyman’s Rural Access Plan

The 2020 Census table counts just 196 people in Lyman. A call ahead beats a long mountain drive. One quick conversation can settle which address or court should get your request. It can also spare the trip. Ask about counter access, the public terminal, hearing mode, copy method, and the current cost.

Three numbers cover the region: 435-425-1107 for Lyman municipal contact, 435-836-1321 for Wayne County Justice Court, and 435-836-1301 for Sixth District Court. An eligible courthouse may open a free public terminal with CORIS/Xchange access. Call before leaving Lyman, since availability shifts.

Who Can See Lyman Court Records

Utah Judiciary rules decide who sees a Lyman-linked court file. Under Rule 4-202.02, records fall into public, private, safeguarded, and sealed classes. Juvenile, adoption, child-welfare, termination-of-parental-rights, expunged, sealed, and some domestic or protective material may simply never show in public Xchange results.

Utah court access rules:

Rule 4-202.02 defines access categories.

Rule 4-202.03 states who may access public and nonpublic records.

Rule 4-202.04 governs request content, clerk review, and redaction.

Utah GRAMA covers public records broadly, yet judicial records follow court-specific rules instead. Someone entitled to restricted information should expect to show identification and file a written request.

Lyman Certified Court Copies

Xchange history is not a certified copy. For an official court copy, contact the clerk who maintains the record. State fee rules separate paper, electronic, staff, Xchange, audio, and other charges, so confirm the current amount and the form you want before ordering.

A written request should name the court, case, document, and certification needed. Ordinary requests carry a ten-business-day response standard under the court rules. A qualifying expedited request uses five business days. The clerk may redact protected material or explain that access is restricted, and a denial opens an administrative appeal route under the cited rules.

Town-certified minutes and court-certified orders are different products. Lyman Town Council handles the first. District or Justice Court handles the second. Route the request correctly and you get a usable record the first time.
